Privacy.
The short version: I collect very little, I don't sell it, and I don't do anything with it you wouldn't expect. The longer version is below, in plain English, because privacy policies written in legalese help nobody.
What I collect
Two things, and only when you offer them:
When you get in touch. If you email me or use the contact form, I get your name, your email address and whatever you put in the message. I keep it so I can reply and, if we end up working together, remember what we said.
When you visit. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. That involves a cookie and some anonymised data about your device and how you got here. It tells me whether the site is working, not who you are.
What I don't do
I don't sell your information. I don't trade it, rent it, or hand it to anyone for marketing. The only third parties in the picture are the tools running quietly in the background: Google (analytics), and Formspree (the contact form). They process your data on my behalf and nothing more.
Cookies
One set, from Google Analytics, for the counting described above. If you'd rather not be counted, your browser settings let you block or clear cookies, and the site will work exactly the same without them.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I'll sort it, no fuss. If you're ever unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can also raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
